I'm just going to put all this behind a cut because it's rather long.
Last night I won This auction for an old 1967 book called Reggie's No Good Bird. There's a very interesting story for me with this book. When I was in 5th grade my teacher was reading us this story about a bully that hurt a baby bluejay. He felt bad about it and decided to raise it secretly. We got as far as the baby bird learning to fly and his mother finding it. Then she quit reading it. I don't remember why. I don't know if it was because the year ended or she just quit, but I was REALLY into the story. I always wondered how it ended. My mother took me to different libraries but we could never find it. No one had it. So for 23 years I've been wanting to know how this story ended. This is an extreme case of an INTJ hating to leave something open ended. I finally found the author and was able to find it on Ebay. So I am now waiting for it to come in the mail. FINALLY!! After all these years I'll get to read the whole thing and find out what happened. This makes me very happy.
Now as per the subject of my post. You guys probably know I'm conservative, but you know I'll listen to other views and if they work then I'll give you credit for it. But if you're just a jerk or an idiot I don't care what side you're on you will be treated as such by me. So Chris had this crazy extreme right guy come in and post this on his political speech.
Liberals should be killed for trying take God out of America. This is a Christian nation and if the atheists, secularists, Muslims, and any other anti-Chriatian group don't like it they should leave. They endorse Satanic practices like abortion, evolution, and homosexuality and God will make them burn in hell for it. They claim that religion should stay out of the government but without religion people are just evil corrupt Satan-worshipping faggots.
My response was as follows:
Have you bothered to even read your Bible? You're not supposed to wish ill on others lest it be brought back on you many fold. So now you're endorsing killing as well? It's people like you that give conservatives a bad name. Some of the things you say might be true but I'm just gonna chuck you in with some of the looney liberals that have posted here. You're the same only from the extreme opposite end.
What this moron doesn't realize is that yes Christianity is our nation's primary religion but America is all about freedom and other people have the right to believe anything they want. Every nation has a primary religion that shouldn't be hidden but we are special because we allow other people to worship how they want. Leaving is another great freedom we have. But killing? What a moron!! The only time one may kill is in self defense, in war or punishment for murder. I don't think his God would be too happy with him. And all religions boil down to "Be good to each other and don't screw yourselves over. Play nice." If he had read any of those books he would know that. Why is it that I know more about people's own holy books than they do? Sigh probably because I read just about anything. It's quite the slap in the face when a non-believer knows more than you do about your religion. I've also set a few Satanists in their place.
And I had an argument with my neighbor Fred that I'm quite pleased about. Arguments in real life are much harder for me because I get frogs in my throat and lose my voice. Anyway Chris went over to ask to borrow the lawn mower. I sensed that this was a bad idea but since Mac wasn't home we couldn't ask him. I haven't wanted to talk to Fred in a while because he's such an in your face extrovert and he loves to preach and get into politics and try to tell you that you're wrong even if you're on the same side. You guys know I really try to avoid politics unless they just interfere with my life. So I walked over because I was doing stuff inside and saw him talking to Chris all pationately about something. It boiled down to the fact that he was getting on Chris's case for owning a Toyota truck instead of having bought an American car. "Where's your loyalty to America?" basically is what he was saying.
Well you guys know I don't react emotionally to things right away and it wasn't until I went back inside and thought about what he had said that I realized I should have been angry and insulted. No one talks to my man that way and you all know how patriotic we are. NO ONE questions my patriotism. So I thought about everything I was going to say. I also thought about writing it all down on paper because being that Fred's likely an ENTJ I probably wouldn't be able to get a word in, I'd probably forget all my points and I'd probably lose my voice. But I didn't do that. I went into the garden and picked out one of my few good tomatoes because I hadn't forgotten about the whole tomato discussion we'd had three months ago. He was going on and on about how tomatoes dont' grow in the sun and you can't grow tomatoes here. Just because HE'S failed at growing tomatoes doesn't mean everyone else is wrong. He's one of those that thinks he knows everything and everyone else is wrong. But my tactic is I don't tell people they are wrong. I SHOW them they are wrong.
I saw him on our side of the street and he was talking to Chris. I walked up and go, "What's going on now?" He acted all nice like everything was fine and dandy. I gave him the tomato and said, "Here. Don't ever tell me how to grow tomatoes again." I wondered how I'd bring up the other point but then he started saying something to Chris and I found my opening. I told him he had no right to tell my man what kind of car he could drive. Even though I thought he should have bought an American car too that I wasn't going to stop him from buying a Japanese car if it made him happy. Besides the sad fact is most American cars are crap. If Americans made better cars then may-be people would buy more of them. The salesman Chris bought the car from was an American so the commission when to an American. Toyota provides jobs for Americans. And this is Chris's first car and I'm proud he didn't have to religh on his parents anymore to buy him cars. Also to quit preaching to us. Supposedly we're on the same side. That got him angry.
"What-Did-you-Say?" He said looking me right in the eye. I just looked back up to him and said.
"STOP Preaching." In other words You Heard me and I'm not afraid of you. Did he think I'd back off? Hell no.
"Then you stay on your side of the road." He goes.
"Fine." I said calmly. As an introvert I have nothing to lose. I'll give him back his stupid lawn mower. I don't need him. But as an extrovert he can't aford to lose ANY friends. Would have been his loss not mine. So despite having lost my voice I managed to whisper a few times and of course saying, "Can I say something." Since he kept going off on tangets that he's wrong to judge people based on what kind of cars they drive. You judge people on how they are. Let them prove they are an idiot before you think that just by their cars. I think he realized that I wasn't wavering, I was right and I wasn't hurt by his threats. He had no hands left to play and being that he likely IS an ENTJ he can't say he was wrong or say he was sorry directly.
So he went into a speech about how the Japanese are the best businessmen in the world. That it's ok for starting off and that he wanted to stay friends. Though he looked at Chris when he said that. You guys know how stone faced I get when I'm mad. I told him he needs to quit complaining and stop focusing on bad things. Why didn't he compliment my nice little American Chevy that I've owned all my driving life since 1993 because I wanted an American car to help our economy?
Man did my throat hurt after that fight, but I WON! I rarely win real life arguments because even if I have all my facts I can't get them out. But I managed to whisper my way through that one. I'm proud that I stood up for my man and that I didn't let this get by without saying something. It HAD to be said. Chris was very proud of me too and I'm glad. I wouldn't have stopped even if he'd asked me to anyway, I was already in fight mode.
Here's something interesting I read on a site about ENTJ's and this seemed to fit Fred.
For the ENTJ, all life unfolds through confrontation, arguing, and engaging with one another in the name of learning. The ENTJ starts with the basic assumption that he or she is right and must be proven wrong. This proving process will be beneficial only to the extent that there are others who have the gumption or audacity required to mount an effective challenge. [Que the INTJ] When the engagement is over, if the ENTJ was right, everyone will be better for having gone through the process. If the ENTJ is wrong, then there will be profound admiration and respect for whoever was strong enough to prevail, as well as gratitude and respect for the new lesson learned.
That must be the extrovert in them. I don't like starting fights. ENTJs seem to look for arguments even with people on the same side. He once asked me if I was a liberal and was disapointed when I told him no and kept asking if I was. I think he wanted to fight me that day. ARG. But the amazing thing is that if you prove them wrong, after getting mad about it, they will respect you for it and I think that's what happened. Chris said it's like dealing with a Klingon. HAHA, it's quite true actually. So that was interesting but I'm still mad. I'll forgive him but he needs to deflate that ego and actually say the words, "I'm sorry." I KNOW how hard that is for his type and that would be an even greater victory. But really I had told Chris I don't want anything to do with him anyway so I'm not expecting it.
EDIT: Oh almost forgot!!
cheezey and
thecrazyfox, I sent out your packages today. So be watching your mail boxes. Wow, it's already August. It's the last month of summer. I can't believe it. That's sad but at the same time I LOVE Fall. PUMPKIN SEASON!! Unfortuantely I'll have to buy pumpkins this year. I don't know if I'll be able to get any off my two vines that are left.
